New Releases by jason

Remember last week when I was complaining about the lack of new releases? Well, they all came out this week.

Autechre-Move of Ten. Warp Records, 2010.

Again, Autechre is a band that I wish I’d heard more of. I have 2 EPs from about 10 years ago, and that’s it. I’ll have to rectify this soon. Anyway, there’s a new thing out, which is the second thing this year, I think.

Capone-N-Noreaga-The War Report 2. EMI, 2010.

I have never understood these guys. They take their names from a gangster who brought down for evading taxes, of all things, and a corrupt politician who was literally Rick Rolled out of office. These are really heroes?

Dangermouse and Sparklehorse-Dark Night of the Soul. EMI, 2010.

Man, I’ve been waiting for this one. Dangermouse, the late Sparklehorse, and David Lynch teamed up to produce this creepy-assed album, with guest appearances by the Flaming Lips, Iggy Pop, and Black Francis, amongst others. The special edition is a box set with 2 LPs, a CD of all the music, a CD of the instrumental tracks, and a book of photos by Lynch. I NEED this. NEED!!!

Korn-Korn III: Remember Who You Are. Roadrunner Records, 2010.

Fuck off.

M.I.A.-/\/\ /\ Y /\. Interscope, 2010.

Yawn.

Seriously, I’m tired of hearing about M>I.A. And I’ve read about how awesome and controversial the cover is. Whatever. It’s fugly.

Chris Buckridge and the Last Friend-Excessive Compulsive. End Up, 2010.

My friend Chris put out an album this week. I’ve only had the chance to listen to it once, but it’s damn good. You can listen to it in its entirety at the End Up website, and you can also buy it there.
