Always happy to be contact by an artist who’s work I’ve previously enjoyed; today it’s Neil Milton.

white spring, black cloud is largely similar to his previous work, elements; he is still making delicate, beautiful music here. Like elements, you have music composed from ambient tones and field recordings, as well as a modern classical piece of strings and piano. I honestly can’t tell you what I like more. Sitting here, writing this in the midst of a blizzard, there is something appropriate about this music, for lack of a better way to describe it. white spring, black cloud is a good example of why I love this type of ambient. It is actually difficult to articulate, but there remains something amazing to me about musicians like Neil who can create such emotionally evocative music without words, sometimes just with tones.

white spring, black cloud will be released Monday on Valentine Records. Highly recommended.
