Any Asshole with a Guitar and a Camera by jason

Once again…

Do you play an instrument? Sing? Do anything musical? Or maybe you know a friend who does. Well, film yourself, put it on YouTube, enable embedding, and e-mail us the link! When we get enough (like, I’m thinking 4), we’ll do a To Eleven Fan Any Asshole! Hell, I (that is, jason)will post one of myself in this post, too, so you don’t have to worry about embarrassing yourself!

Our e-mail is Put TO ELEVEN ASSHOLE in the subject line, and get recording!

Since I haven’t gotten any word from anyone yet on this, if you send something, it’s pretty much guaranteed to go up. I also want to add that if any of our readers are professional musicians who want to get the word out about your talents, this might be a way to do so! Just record yourself or your band in studio (or on stage, or in a bathroom…) and when we have enough videos from people, we’ll put it up!

Moving along…

First up, here is Robert Borden covering another of our favorite Assholes, Julia Nunes. He sounds pretty good for his age, and I just think it’s cool that one YouTube celebrity is inspiring someone else. It kind of proves my point that the best thing about the internet is that any asshole with a guitar and a camera can be a star.

Speaking of Julia Nunes, let’s watch her. Sure, she’s using all sorts of editing, and that’s not a guitar, but you know what? I’m running this thing, so we’re going to watch her cover Band of Horses’ “The General Specific.” How long do you all think it will be before Jayson comments on my unhealthy obsession with Ms. Nunes? I say less than an hour. I’m out of control; I must be stopped.

And, since I’m all over the place today, here is the band Attila and the Huns covering my favorite Monkees’ song, “Look Out.”

And finally, here’s another group of our favorite Assholes, Pomplamoose, covering Beyonce’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).” Rad.

And that’s it for the Assholes! Come back next week…the internet has plenty of Assholes!

Dogg, if we couldn’t get people to send us their addresses so we could mail them a free cd, there is no way in hell they are going enter this contest. It is not even a remote possibility. Give up already.
