Going through high school in the early-to-mid ’90s, I came of age listening to Nirvana. Countless teens, myself included, were inspired to go up on stage and make their own music because if Kurt could do it, well…

It seems that Kurt’s legacy is not forgotten by the Assholes on the internet, so here are some of them who got in front of their camera and played us some Nirvana.

First up, here’s HelloKatie01, who, by her own admission, is a little tipsy while playing “All Apologies.” I can get behind that. She also does a good job of lowering her voice to Kurt’s range, even if it sounds a little affected. Anywho, I like it.

And here’s Jess, AKA Zombiezz, covering “Heart Shaped Box.” It’s surprising how many Nirvana songs sound right on Acoustic guitar. This is one of them. Jess does a good job with it.

OK…when this kid starts talking at the beginning, it seems like this is going to be the dumbest thing ever. But holy shit, when they start playing, it’s like…give these kids a few years and they’re going to rock. Plus, they are doing an acoustic cover of “Territorial Pissings.” I mean, who does that? xRossxALF and Azad, that’s who.

Finally, here’s fishenelmar covering “Drain You,” and doing a fantastic job of it after the flub at the beginning. The shirt says “Punk Rock” but the couch says “I live with my mom.” So, basically, the whole thing is punk rock.

That’s it for the Assholes this week! See you next week, same Ass-time, same Ass-channel!
