Any Asshole with a Guitar and a Camera by jason

I had a hard time finding Assholes for today. I would have an easier time if you all would respond to this:

THE TO ELEVEN CALL FOR ASSHOLES:

Do you play an instrument? Sing? Do anything musical? Or maybe you know a friend who does. Well, film yourself, put it on YouTube, enable embedding, and e-mail us the link! When we get enough (like, I’m thinking 4), we’ll do a To Eleven Fan Any Asshole! Hell, I (that is, jason)will post one of myself in this post, too, so you don’t have to worry about embarrassing yourself!

Our e-mail is toelevenblog@gmail.com. Put TO ELEVEN ASSHOLE in the subject line, and get recording!

Since I haven’t gotten any word from anyone yet on this, if you send something, it’s pretty much guaranteed to go up. I also want to add that if any of our readers are professional musicians who want to get the word out about your talents, this might be a way to do so!

On with the show…

This guy calls himself “Poo6969.” If you go to his YouTube page and read his profile, he’s pretty funny. If you listen to his cover of Nick Cave’s “The Mercy Seat,” he just kicks a lot of ass. Like, a lot a lot.

YouTube user MPVT Sings this cover of Belle and Sebastian’s “The Boy with the Arab Strap,” and she even gets the accent right! She’s also purty, if you’re into that sort of thing.

BrittleMoon does a pretty decent covers of the Mountain Goats’ “Thank You Mario but our Princess is in Another Castle.” This is of interest to exactly no one but me, I think, but I’m linking to this anyway.

Finally, Jeff Monkman does a cover of the Flaming Lips’ “Waitin’ for a Superman” that is almost as beautiful as Iron and Wine’s cover of it. I might like this better than the original.

And that’s it for the Assholes. You know the drill…if you like them, click through to their YouTube pages and let them know where you heard them!
