Any Asshole with a Guitar and a Camera by jason

It’s Thursday, which means it’s everyone’s favorite fake holiday, Any Asshole Day!

The first Asshole is Josh Raucci from the band Look at the Fields. He’s a hipster white boy with no shoes covering Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind,” and everything about that seems wrong. However, dear readers, it is not wrong. This might be the most right thing I’ve seen on the internet today. Granted, I just rolled out of bed, so I haven’t seen much. If you like it, though, click on the above link to the band’s site and download their album for free.

Here’s Corey Huevel, covering Bob Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower.” I like this cover in that he really does his own thing with it. Also, I just finished watching Battlestar Galactica and if you’ve seen it, you know what I’m talking about. Anywho, good cover, this.

And here’s another good cover: TheYoungChap’s version of Radiohead’s “My Iron Lung.” I only play a little guitar, so I’m no expert, but I always thought this sounded like a particularly difficult song to cover. He does just fine, though. Awesome cover.

And finally, here is an acoustic cover of Lady GaGa’s “Bad Romance.” The YouTube user that did this collects covers and doesn’t give credit to them, so I have no idea who this is. She’s pretty frickin’ awesome, though.

OK. So far, I’ve heard from exactly zero of you regarding this:

THE TO ELEVEN CALL FOR ASSHOLES:

Do you play an instrument? Sing? Do anything musical? Or maybe you know a friend who does. Well, film yourself, put it on YouTube, enable embedding, and e-mail us the link! When we get enough (like, I’m thinking 4), we’ll do a To Eleven Fan Any Asshole! Hell, I (that is, jason)will post one of myself in this post, too, so you don’t have to worry about embarrassing yourself!

Our e-mail is toelevenblog@gmail.com. Put TO ELEVEN ASSHOLE in the subject line, and get recording!

Since I haven’t gotten any word from anyone yet on this, if you send something, it’s pretty much guaranteed to go up. I also want to add that if any of our readers are professional musicians who want to get the word out about your talents, this might be a way to do so!
