Music of Design: Horizon Fire by Jayson

I actually didn’t think I’d do another one of these, because really, how many graphic designers/musicians are there out there? Or even designers putting together mixtapes. Still thanks to WANKEN, I just recently found out about Horizon Fire.

Horizon Fire is the work of Paul Tebbott, whose work I have seen around but never with any attribution (stupid tumblr image blogs). Dude is a massively talented designer and the work he has online is genius. Seriously inspiring stuff. Well his music is just as good. Horizon Fire is older school electronic. It really reminds me of Boards of Canada; very smooth and calm, while being occasionally epic. Mild psychedelia. It’s very cool stuff, the kind of thing you can actively listen to and chill or, or play as totally appropriate background music.

To compound the awesomeness, everything he’s done is free on the Horizon Fire Bandcamp. I’ve been listening to Piney Hills Blaze the entire week, it’s just that good.
