This week, lots of Assholes with guitars and cameras put their efforts on YouTube for our consumption. Let’s oblige them.

Leggo, as these three call themselves, do a cover of “Pork and Beans” that captures the spirit of the original. To be completely honest, I don’t like this song. I hate everything off the Red Album except “The Greatest Man That Ever Lived.” Still, I liked this performance, so I’m linking to it. You’re welcome.

YouTube user Lawgorhythm does a pretty kick-ass cover of REM’s “What’s the Frequency, Kenneth?” He does not wear a shirt of violent green. I couldn’t understand. Anyway, it’s been forever since I’ve heard this song, so it was nice to hear someone do it.

Danny McEvoy went to a shelter in the middle of a roundabout on Penny Lane to do his cover of the Beatles song. It’s not a full cover, but he sounds great, and he gets props for going the extra mile or however far he lives from there.

And finally, here’s Fortuna Hau doing the obligatory MGMT cover of the week. It’s a good one, though. Like, really good.

OK. I want to do a thing here. I’m trying to get more of your participation on this little blog here. So…

Do you play an instrument? Sing? Do anything musical? Or maybe you know a friend who does. Well, film yourself, put it on YouTube, enable embedding, and e-mail us the link! When we get enough (like, I’m thinking 4), we’ll do a To Eleven Fan Any Asshole! Hell, I (that is, jason)will post one of myself in this post, too, so you don’t have to worry about embarrassing yourself!

Our e-mail is Put TO ELEVEN ASSHOLE in the subject line, and get recording!
