Any Asshole with a Guitar and a Microphone by jason

This week’s theme for Any Asshole is songs that probably should not be covered on acoustic guitar. Though these songs were designed to dance to, and though they are mostly rap or near-rap, I think these Assholes do a pretty good job translating these songs into their own styles.

Nicole, AKA nicolascage09, takes Ke$ha’s “Tik Tok” and shows that it really isn’t a bad song. Actually, her version is pretty awesome. I can get behind this.

TwistedTim01 did this cover of 3OH!3’s “Don’t Trust Me.” While this is a song that seems like people probably shouldn’t cover, it’s pretty popular amongst the Assholes on YouTube. This is one of the better covers.

I may have featured these Assholes before, but I love this cover of “Get Low.” Like, it’s one of my favorite Asshole covers ever, so if you’ve seen it before, you should see it again.

And because I may have featured that one before, here are Sahra James and Susanna doing a version of “Get Low” that you can listen to in your Subaru on the way to Lilith Fair. I have an ex-girlfriend who might know what I’m talking about.

And finally, here’s Raymond Valdez doing a completely unironic (is that even a word?) version of Notorious B.I.G.’s “Big Poppa.” It’s pretty schmoooooove.

As always, show your love for this blog (and these Assholes) by telling them where you heard them!
